Ingredients to make Madeleine

  • 1/2 cup Flour
  • 1/3 cup Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Butter (unsalted)
  • 1 Eggs
  • 1 tbsp Lemon zest (peel grated)
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • A pinch of Salt
  • Powdered sugar (optional)

How to make Madeleine

  1. Preheat the oven at 190 degrees. Butter and flour madeleine moulds.
  2. In a bowl, beat eggs, salt and vanilla at high speed
  3. Beat constantly and add sugar little by little. Beat untill the mixture becomes thick.
  4. Mix flour little by little in the egg mixture by fold and cut method.
  5. Add lemon zest and melted butter and mix it well.
  6. Spoon the batter into the moulds.
  7. Bake for 15 minutes or untill golden brown.
  8. Top with powdered sugar over the madeleine and serve.
My Tip: You can add any flavour of your choice to the madeline batter to make it fun and exciting
