Fruity & Nutty Kheer

Ingredients to make Fruity & Nutty Kheer

  • Milk - 1 Liter
  • Apple(Grated) - 2
  • Lotus Seeds - 1 cup
  • Assorted Nuts(chopped) - 1/2 cup
  • Sugar - 1/2 cup + 1 tsp or to taste
  • Green Cardamom powder - 1 tsp
  • Unsalted Butter/ghee - 2 tsp
  • For garnish Saffron Strands - a few
  • Assorted Nuts(chopped) - 1 cup
  • Rose water - few drops

How to make Fruity & Nutty Kheer

  1. Add 1 tsp butter/ghee in a heavy bottomed pan, add grated apple,1 tsp sugar & saute till the water evaporates.
  2. Take it out. Keep aside. Roast Lotus seeds using a pan, add 1 tsp butter/ghee.
  3. Add Milk in a pan, let it once boil. Add lotus seeds & cook on medium heat.
  4. Add the sauteed Apple, Green cardamom powder & nuts. cook till lotus seeds become soft & get desired consistency.
  5. Serve hot or chilled. Garnish with saffron strands, chopped nuts and few drops of rose water.

My Tip:

Saute the apple sometime before add in the milk as a raw apple may curdle the milk.
