Ingredients to make Cooker payasam

  • 1 litre - milk
  • 1/2 cup - rice cleaned and washed
  • 1 cup - sugar
  • 3 whole cardomom

How to make Cooker payasam

  1. Take a 5 liter pressure cooker. Pour the milk into it and bring to a boil.
  2. Add the rice, sugar and the cardamom.
  3. Cook on a high flame. Give one pressure whistle. Lower the flame and cook for 20 minutes.
  4. Take it off the fire and serve hot. Open the cooker only once the full pressure is released. This takes about 10 - 15 minutes.

My Tip:

Can be made with any rice. But the traditional and authentic taste is only with the unpolished small grained rice of Kerala.
