Brown Rice lentil Dosa

Ingredients to make Brown Rice lentil Dosa

  • 2 cups Brown rice
  • 1 cup Urad dal
  • 2 tbsp Chana dal
  • 2 tbsp Moong dal
  • 1/2tsp Methi seeds
  • Salt to taste

How to make Brown Rice lentil Dosa

  1. Wash and soak rice and dals in enough water (preferably warm water ) for 4 to 6 hours or until rice is plumped up.
  2. Drain the water and grind this into a smooth batter adding water if required. Keep this batter in a warm place overnight or for 8 hours until fermented.
  3. Unlike other dosa/idli batters, it does not get doubled or tripled in volume you just observe a slightly sour smell and find few small bubbles over the top.
  4. Now add enough salt to the batter and adjust the consistency like the regular dosa batter.
  5. Now heat the skillet or Tawa and pour a ladle of batter and spread in a circular motion. Add a few drops of oil to the sides.
  6. Cook on medium high heat until golden brown. No need to flip.
  7. Once done serve this crispy healthy dosa with any chutney of choice. Tastes good with sambhar and spicy podi too.
  8. Healthy breakfast for your happy family!
