Mooli Dal / Moolo diye Bhaja Moong Dal

Ingredients to make Mooli Dal / Moolo diye Bhaja Moong Dal

  • Yellow moong dal 1 cup
  • White radish 2 big , cut into big slices
  • Panch Phoron 1/2 tsp
  • Dry Red Chilli 1
  • Green Chilli 2
  • Turmeric Powder 1/2 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Ginger Paste 1/3 tsp
  • Cumin Powder 1 tsp
  • Coriander Powder 1/2 tsp
  • Oil - as needed
  • Coriander Leaves 1 tbsp, chopped

How to make Mooli Dal / Moolo diye Bhaja Moong Dal

  1. Heat 1 tsp oil in a pressure cooker.
  2. Add washed and dried yellow moong dal.
  3. Saute for 2-3 mins
  4. Add salt.
  5. Add 2 cups of water to it.
  6. Now pressure cook for 1-2 whistles.
  7. In a Nonstick Pan heat oil.
  8. Add dry red chilli, ginger paste and panch phoron.
  9. Saute for 1-2 mins.
  10. Add turmeric powder, coriander powder , cumin powder and green chilli.
  11. Saute for 2-3 mins.
  12. Add the radish pieces and salt.
  13. Cover and cook for 5-6 mins.
  14. Now add the boiled dal.
  15. If you want thin dal, then add some hot water to it.
  16. Cover and cook for another 7-8 mins.
  17. Simmer for 5 mins or until the radish pieces are well cooked.
  18. Check for salt.
  19. Garnish with chopped coriander.
  20. Serve hot with rice.
