About Shahi Methi Matar Makhane (Paneer-Cashew Gravy) Recipe

It is a very rich and creamy curry that can be enjoyed with chapatis, paranthas, naans and rice etc.

Shahi Methi Matar Makhane (Paneer-Cashew Gravy)

Ingredients to make Shahi Methi Matar Makhane (Paneer-Cashew Gravy)

  • 1 1/2 cup Half and half (low fat cream)
  • 1 cup boiled and drained methi leaves
  • 3/4 cup boiled peas or frozen peas
  • 3/4 cup paneer crumbled
  • 3/4 cup makhane roasted
  • 3/4 cup cashews powdered
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1 1/2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp ginger paste
  • 1/2 tsp green chili paste
  • 1/2 cup Kasoori methi
  • 1/4 tsp Garam masala powder
  • A pinch of cardamom powder
  • salt as needed

How to make Shahi Methi Matar Makhane (Paneer-Cashew Gravy)

  1. Heat oil in a pan,add green chili and ginger paste. Stir for few seconds and add cashews powder, crumbled paneer, cook it for 10-12 mins on medium gas continuously.
  2. Add Methi leaves and stir for 5-6 mins on medium gas. Add half & half along with water, cook it for 5-6 mins on medium gas.
  3. Add kasoori methi, cook for 2-3 mins. Add boiled peas, cook for 3-4 mins more.
  4. Add salt, sugar, garam masala, mix well. Cook for 2 mins more. Turn off the gas, add makhane and cardamom powder . Cover with a lid.
  5. Your shahi curry with Methi matar makhane is ready. Serve hot.

My Tip:

Add Makhane, when you are going to serve otherwise it will become soggy. For cashew paste, take a blender , add cashews and little milk or water and blend to make paste. Half & half and water can adjusted as per thickness of gravy. If you want to add onion. them blend onion , green chili and ginger together. Heat oil in a pan. Add onion paste and stir for 3-4 minutes and then do it same as above process.
