Ingredients to make Malai mogar paneer

  • 1 cup yellow moon daal(soaked for 30 minutes)
  • 250 gram paneer
  • 1/2 cup curd
  • 1/2 cup fresh malai
  • Water 1/2 cup or as needed
  • 8-10 cashew nuts
  • 2 medium sized tomatoes finely chhoped
  • 1spring curry leaves
  • 2 to 3 green chillies
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp red chilly powder
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • Pinch of Asafoetida
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp Desi ghee
  • 1 tbsp Butter

How to make Malai mogar paneer

  1. Heat ghee in a pan and add cumin seeds and Curry leaves to splutter .
  2. Add hing, green chillies, and cashewnuts and saute for a minute
  3. Add moong daal ,red chilly and salt and water and cook with a lid for 5 to 6 minutes on a low flame.
  4. Then add curd, tomato and gram masala and cook for 1or 2 minute
  5. Add malai and give it a good mix
  6. Finely add paneer and mix well
  7. Switch off the flame and lastly add butter and serve hot with roti, naan and rice
My Tip: Don't overcook moong daal.
