Tofu Masala Gravy

Ingredients to make Tofu Masala Gravy

  • Silken tofu 200 gms
  • Onion 1 chopped
  • Garlic pods 5_6 crushed
  • Currry leaves few
  • Ginger 1 inch piece crushed
  • Turmeric powder 1/3 tsp
  • Cumin powder 1 tsp
  • coriander powder 1 tsp
  • kashmiri red chilli powder 1 tsp
  • Tomato puree 1/2 cup
  • Salt
  • Oil as required

How to make Tofu Masala Gravy

  1. Fry tofu lightly
  2. Keep aside
  3. Heat oil in a nonstick pan
  4. Add whole cumin seeds and curry leaves , let cumin seeds splutter
  5. Add chopped onion , garlic and ginger
  6. Once onions turns brown add turmeric powder , cumin powder , coriander powder , Chilli powder and 2 tsp water
  7. Saute for 2_3 mins
  8. Add tomato puree 1/2 cup
  9. Saute for 3_4 mins , or until oil separates from the masala
  10. Add fried tofu
  11. Mix and saute tofu with the masala , add salt
  12. Add 1 cup water
  13. When the gravy turns thick , switch off gas
  14. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves
