Custard Rice Kheer

Ingredients to make Custard Rice Kheer

  • Milk 1ltr.
  • basmati rice 1/2cup
  • Custard powder 2Tbps
  • elaichi powder 1/4 tsp
  • ghee 1tbsp
  • sugar 1/2 cup
  • almond sliced 1Tbsp

How to make Custard Rice Kheer

  1. Wash and soak rice for an hour.
  2. Dissolve custard powder in 2Tbsp milk.
  3. Boil 1ltr milk in a heavy bottom pan.
  4. When milk comes to boiling point,lower the gas and add custard paste.
  5. Stirring constantly to avoid lumps.
  6. Turn off the heat and keep aside the custard milk.
  7. Strain the water from the rice.
  8. In another broad pan heat ghee.
  9. Add rice to the ghee and stir cook Until rice begins to brown lightly.
  10. Browning of rice will take 4-5 minutes .
  11. Add the custard milk and bring to boil on medium heat.
  12. Stirring constantly to prevent rice from sticking.
  13. Reduce the heat and simmer till rice is cooked.
  14. When rice is cooked stir in sugar.
  15. Cook on low flame Until milk thickens.
  16. Add elaichi powder and sliced almonds.

My Tip:

Milkmaid can be used but not more than 1/2 cup.
