Macaroni pops

Ingredients to make Macaroni pops

  • 2 cup elbow pasta / macaroni
  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • 2 tbsp all purpose flour
  • 2 cups Milk
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper powder
  • 1/2 cup Grated Cheese
  • 2 eggs,beaten
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 2 cups breadcrumbs
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for frying

How to make Macaroni pops

  1. First of all, boil the pasta in a pan with little salt till al dente. Drain it in a colander and keep aside.
  2. To make the white sauce or bechamel sauce,take 2 tbsp butter in a pan on gas and add 2 tbsp flour to it and stir for a min or so.
  3. Add in the milk slowly with constant stirring to avoid any lumps.
  4. Add in the salt, pepper powder and grated cheese.
  5. Stir it well till the cheese gets incorporated and the sauce becomes thick.
  6. Add in the boiled macaroni and coat it well with the sauce and switch off the gas.
  7. Spread the pasta mix in a wide tin lined with parchment paper.
  8. Keep this in the freezer for setting for at least 2 hrs.
  9. After the mix is set completely, take it out and make bite sizes by cutting with a knife.
  10. Heat oil in a frying pan, dip the bites first in flour, then with the beaten eggs and then salt mixed breadcrumbs.
  11. Fry them on a medium flame till golden brown.
  12. Take out on an absorbent paper and serve hot with tomato sauce or any other dips of your choice.
