Ingredients to make Mothichoor Laddoo

  • For Boondis:
  • 1 cup Besan flour/Gram Flour
  • 3/4 to 1 cup Milk
  • 1 tbsp Ghee
  • A pinch of orange colour
  • Oil for frying
  • For Syrup:
  • 3/4 cup Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • 1/2 tsp Cardamom powder
  • 1 tsp Rose water
  • A pinch of orange colour
  • Nuts (Almond Cashew nuts or Pistachio)

How to make Mothichoor Laddoo

  1. For Boondis:
  2. Sift the flour in a bowl. Add the ghee, milk and mix the batter well. Add the colour. The batter should not be too runny nor too thick. Set aside for 10 minutes.
  3. Now heat oil in a kadai. Now pour the batter through a perforated spoon to the hot oil. Fry the boondis, not so crisp. Drain out the excess oil. Keep aside.
  4. For Sugar Syrup:
  5. Boil the water and the sugar together till we get a one string consistency. Turn off the flame, add the cardamom powder, rose water and colour to this. Let it cool for a few minutes.
  6. Put the boondis to the warm syrup and mix well. Add the nuts to this. Now in a mixer grinder add the mixed boondis along with 1 tbsp of boiling water. Pulse this for 3 times. Now put this in a bowl and make out laddoos from this.
  7. These laddoos have a soft texture so be careful while making balls. Enjoy the delicious laddoos!!!
