ABOUT Bhapa chingdi RECIPE

Prawns cooked in mustard sauce, to be served with just some steamed rice.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Medium sized prawns washed and cleaned. 8
  2. 1 tbsp mustard seeds
  3. 1/2 tbsp poppy seeds
  4. 6 green chillies
  5. Sugar 1/2 tsp
  6. Salt to taste
  7. Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  8. Red chilli powder 1tsp
  9. Mustard oil 2 tbsp

Instructions

  1. Marinate the prawns with some salt and turmeric powder and red chilli powder for 30 min
  2. Grind a fine maste of Mustard seeds, salt, sugar, poppy seeds and green chillies using some water
  3. Add this paste into.the marinated prawns. Transfer it into a microwave proof dish . Pour some mustard oil over it.
  4. Microwave for 6 to 8 min.
  5. Sprinkle some more mustard oil and serve
