Pogaco

Ingredients to make Pogaco

  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 1 cup yoghurt
  • 1 whole egg +1 egg white, preserve the yolk
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • salt to taste
  • all purpose flour as required-approx.3 cups
  • grated cheese (any type, of your choice) 1 cup
  • chilli flakes
  • oregano
  • finely cut parsley
  • sesame seeds for garnishing.

How to make Pogaco

  1. Mix first five ingredients together and add all purpose flour to make dough.Let it rest for 10 minutes.
  2. Combine cheese with salt, oregano, chilli flakes, parsley for the filling.
  3. Take some dough and flatten it in your palm.Add the filling and seal the ends, place on greased baking trays.Make such pogacos then brush egg yolk over it and garnish with sesame seeds .
  4. Bake the Pogacos in preheated oven on 190°C for 20 mins or till they change colour.

My Tip:

I sometimes use Kalonji instead of Sesame seeds.

wow! I would like to bake this at home, can we experiment with the filling, I would like to add some meat into it?
