Ingredients to make Aloo Ko Achar / Spicy Potato Salad

  • Chopped Boiled Potatoes - 2 cup
  • Chopped Onion - 1/2 cup
  • Thinly chopped Cucumber - 1/2 cup
  • Thinly chopped Carrot - 1/2 cup
  • Slit Green chilies - 3 to 4
  • Sesame seeds - 3 tsp (toasted and finely grounded)
  • Timur (Sichuan Pepper) - 1/2 tsp
  • Red Chili powder - 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Garam Masala powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Cooking oil - 3 tsp
  • Mixed spices for seasoning - 1 tsp ( Mustard seeds, fenugreek seeds, Cumin seeds)
  • Salt to taste
  • Lemon juice 3 to 4 tsp
  • Finely chopped Coriander for garnishing.

How to make Aloo Ko Achar / Spicy Potato Salad

  1. Add all the ingredients except mixed spices and oil, in a big bowl and mix well.
  2. In a pan heat 3 tsp oil over a high flame and add the spices, once the spices are golden brown, turn off the flame and pour it over the ingredients in the bowl.
  3. Mix properly and adjust the salt and lemon juice, if needed. Garnish with fresh finely chopped Coriander and serve.
My Tip: You may add any salad veggies of your choice in this salad.
