Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Corn flour / corn starch 1/2 cup
  2. Water 21/2 cup
  3. Sugar 11/4 cup
  4. Lemon juice 1 tablespoon
  5. Ghee 4-5 tablespoons
  6. Cashews, chopped 10
  7. Cardamom powder 1/4 teaspoon
  8. Few drops of orange food colour
  9. Chopped 5 almonds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Firstly, in a large mixing bowl take corn flour and water and mix well without forming any lumps.
  2. Furthermore, add half cup of more water and continue to mix. keep aside.
  3. Firstly, in a large kadai / non-stick pan take sugar add water and allow the syrup to boil.
  4. Pour corn flour mixture into the boiling sugar syrup.Furthermore, stirring continuously on low-medium flame.
  5. Once the corn flour mixture starts to boil, and starts to thicken and immediately add a tsp of lemon juice.
  6. Also keep stirring till the mixture thickens completely.Now add a tbsp full of ghee.
  7. And mix continuously till all the ghee is absorbed.f Further, add another tbsp of more ghee and continue to mix till it turns glossy.
  8. Then the mixture will start turning transparent and silky,releasing ghee from sides.
  9. Add food colour, cardamom powder and chopped cashews. continue to mix till mixture will start to form a lump.
  10. Later, transfer the mixture to a tray and level and also sprinkle some chopped almonds and rest for an hour.
  11. Finally, cut to a desired shape and serve.
  12. Yummy yummy Halwa is ready
