About Cornmeal cake Recipe

A very healthy cake baked without an oven.

Cornmeal cake

Ingredients to make Cornmeal cake

  • Cornmeal (makai ki aata) - 1/2 cup
  • all purpose flour (maida) - 1/2 cup
  • sugar - 1/4 cup + 1 teaspoon
  • salt - a pinch
  • Baking powder - 3/4 teaspoon
  • baking soda - 1/4 teaspoon
  • curd - 1/2 cup
  • butter/oil - 1/4 cup
  • Vanilla essence - 1 teaspoon

How to make Cornmeal cake

  1. Mix together the cornmeal, flour, salt, baking powder and baking soda.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix together the curd, butter/oil, sugar and vanilla essence. Stir well till the sugar melts.
  3. Now mix the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients mixture. Do not over mix.
  4. Grease your baking tin and dust with flour. Pour cake mixture into your baking tin.
  5. Bake in preheated oven at 180 degree celsius for 30 minutes (or till toothpick inserted in cake comes out clean). Allow the cake to cool down completely.
  6. Slice and serve cake.

My Tip:

Baking time might vary 5 minutes less or more depending on your oven. So keep checking after 25 minutes.
