ABOUT beetroot pulav RECIPE

Beetroot has several nutrients needed for good health. Beetroot rice is very easy to prepare and also very healthy. This is suitable for everyone’s health.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 1 cup Basmati Rice
  2. 1 beetroot finely chopped
  3. 1/4 cup green peas
  4. 1 tsp Ginger garlic paste
  5. 1 onion finely chopped
  6. 1 green chilli chopped
  7. 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
  8. Pinch of turmeric powder
  9. 1 1/2 cups Water
  10. 1 tsp coriander leaves chopped
  11. Salt to taste
  12. 1 tsp oil
  13. 1 tsp ghee
  14. 2 cloves
  15. 1 inch cinamon stick
  16. 2 Cardamoms
  17. 1/2 tsp cumin seeds

Instructions

  1. in a pressure cooker heat oil and ghee
  2. add cinamom, cloves, cardamoms and cumin seeds
  3. let it splutter then add ginger garlic paste, onion and green chili
  4. fry till raw smell goes
  5. then add garam masala powder and turmeric powder and fry for a minute
  6. add beetroot and peas and saute for 2 minutes
  7. add salt and soaked rice (soak the rice for 15 minutes then drain the water and add rice) and give a quick saute till the masalas are nicely coated with the rice
  8. add water and close the lid
  9. pressure cook for 2 whistles
  10. once pressure releases open the lid and transfer the pulav to a serving bowl
  11. garnish with coriander leaves and serve with raita
