ABOUT Masaledaar Gurda Kaleji Phepsa.... RECIPE

A very famous Hyderabadi speciality mostly served on Bakra Eid and remains a popular favourite of everyone from the city. However this can be made anytime other than the festive occasion for a yummy breakfast that is lipsmacking. Mixed parts along with lamb meat is used in this recipe and can be made according to one's choice and preference of spices.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Lamb Liver 1
  2. Lamb Kidneys 2
  3. Lamb heart 1
  4. Lamb lungs 2
  5. Lamb meat 1/2kg
  6. Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
  7. Salt 1 tsp
  8. Turmeric 1 tsp
  9. Red chilli powder 1 tbsp
  10. Garam masala 1 tbsp
  11. Coriander powder 1 tsp
  12. Tomatoes chopped 1
  13. OR
  14. Thick curd 1/2 cup
  15. Onions sliced 3
  16. Green chillies chopped 2
  17. Coriander leaves chopped 1/4th cup
  18. Oil 4-5 tbsp

Instructions

  1. Clean all the mixed parts and apply ginger garlic paste and salt to it.
  2. Keep aside for 10 minutes.
  3. Heat oil in a pressure cooker.
  4. Saute onions until translucent.
  5. Add all the spices one by one.
  6. Saute these for a minute.
  7. Add thick curd or one chopped tomato.
  8. Saute until the raw smell disappears.
  9. Add the marinated mixed parts and meat to the cooker.
  10. Pressure cook until done for 6 to 7 whistles.
  11. Do not cook for a long time.
  12. Let the pressure settle down.
  13. Saute it on a high flame stirring continuosly until oil starts floating on top.
  14. Garnish with lots of freshly chopped coriander.
  15. Serve hot with parathas or chapatis for a yummy breakfast.
