Beetroot cookies/ Heart Beet Cookies

Ingredients to make Beetroot cookies/ Heart Beet Cookies

  • Wheat flour- 3\4 cup
  • Maida- 1\4 cup
  • Baking powder- 1 tsp
  • Beetroot puree- 1 tbsp
  • Granulated sugar- 1\2 cup ( first measure it then just powder it in the mixer)
  • Vanilla essence- 2 tsp
  • Oil- 1\4 cup
  • Milk-1 or 2 tsp ( adjust)

How to make Beetroot cookies/ Heart Beet Cookies

  1. Sieve both the flours with baking powder. Add the powdered sugar and beetroot the puree in a bowl and mix well. Then add oil into it and whisk it well. Next add in essence also.
  2. Now slowly add the flour mixture in batches and whisk till it combines well. If it's difficult to mix then only add milk otherwise don't. Make a non sticky dough from this mixture.
  3. Roll the prepared dough and cut it with a heart shaped cookie cutter. Then arrange these cookies on a baking tray.
  4. Bake them for 10-12 mins at 180 degree celsius, however do not allow it to become brown. Once cooked, let it cool on a wire rack.
  5. Serve them warm with milk or tea as desired.

My Tip:

To make the beetroot puree: 1.Peel the skin of the beetroot, cook it with some water. Then cool and blend it to fine paste. Your beetroot puree is now ready.
