A famous chinese dish which goes well with white rice.

Sesame Oil Black Pepper Chicken

Ingredients to make Sesame Oil Black Pepper Chicken

  • 1 chicken - cut into small pieces (can be substituted with 1 kg of boneless chicken)
  • Sesame oil - 5 tsp
  • 9 cm ginger - fine slices
  • 6 cloves garlic - fine slices
  • 1 tomato - fine slices
  • Oyster Sauce - 5 tbsp
  • Thick soy sauce - as required
  • Black pepper - as required
  • salt - as required
  • chicken cube ( optional )
  • Scallion/spring onion - as required

How to make Sesame Oil Black Pepper Chicken

  1. Saute the garlic and ginger in sesame oil until it turns brown in colour.
  2. Add the chicken, salt, oyster sauce, tomato, black pepper, soy sauce and the chicken cubes as well. Stir until the ingredients are well mixed.
  3. Close the wok and let it simmer for 20 minutes on medium heat. (For those who prefer a thick gravy, towards the end it is advisable to add a mixture of 1 tsp of corn starch/flour and a cup of warm water, two minutes before turning off the flame).
  4. Garnish with scallion/spring onion and serve it hot.

My Tip:

For better taste, you can marinate the chicken in oyster sauce, thick soy sauce and salt for 1 hour before preparing the dish.
