Eggless Doughnuts

Ingredients to make Eggless Doughnuts

  • 2 cup maida
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp butter at room temperature
  • A pinch of salt
  • 1 tsp active dry yeast
  • For sugar Syrup
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • For Garnish :
  • Dark Compound Chocolate
  • White chocolate

How to make Eggless Doughnuts

  1. In a bowl take ¼ cup of warm water not very hot as hot water would kill the yeast. Add 1tsp sugar and 1 tsp active dry yeast to it give a quick stir and leave this for 10-15 minutes for yeast proofing.
  2. When yeast proofing is done ,then take maida . Add salt and 1tsp powdered sugar to it . Make a well and add yeast to it. Add 1 tsp melted butter and make a dough with little water if required.
  3. It would turn out to be sticky dough. Knead it well and then leave it in a bowl , apply oil on top and cover with wet muslin cloth.
  4. Leave it for 1-1/2 hour and it double in size. Now do some punching on it . i.e. knead it well.
  5. Make balls of the dough and roll out chappati (not very thin) . Now cut rounds of this chappati with any bottle lid.
  6. Make a hole in middle of each round (u can use another tiny lid and make holes in centre.)
  7. Keep these rounds spread in a plate at a distance for another ½ hour and covered.
  8. Till then prepare sugar syrup of one thread consistency. Heat oil and fry the rounds on medium flame.
  9. Soak them in sugar syrup. Take them out and garnish first by dipping in melted dark chocolate then by making any design of melted white chocolate over it.
