Ingredients to make Rhododendron doughnuts

  • For Doughnuts:=
  • Sugar 1/2cup
  • Dry instant yeast 1tsp
  • 2 n 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp Baking powder
  • Salt 1 tsp
  • Butter 1/2cup
  • Egg 1
  • Oil for frying
  • Buransh extract 1tbsp
  • For Rhodendron glaze = :
  • Sugar 1/2 cup
  • Rhodendron concentrate 2 cups
  • For lemon glaze
  • 1/2 cup castor sugar
  • Lemon juice 1tbsp

How to make Rhododendron doughnuts

  1. First of all heat 10ml of water to dissolve yeast
  2. Add sugar n salt to it n let it rest for 2 minutes...you may watch the liquid bubbling..
  3. Add egg n flour ,butter and knead a smooth dough
  4. Let this dough rest for 1hr to become double in size.
  5. Now heat a pan n pour Rhododendron juice .
  6. Add sugar to this juice
  7. Let it boil for five minutes n keep stirring to make it a thick syrup.
  8. Now keep it aside n make lemon glaze by mixing sugar n lemon juice all together...keep this mixture in a dry n cool temperature.
  9. Now roll out the dough in a 1 cm thick chapati n cut into doughnuts shapes.
  10. Heat oil in a deep pan n fry them out
  11. Dip the doughnuts into Buransh glaze
  12. Add lemon glaze n enjoy eating with your kids n friends...
My Tip: Dont let the Buransh syrup reduction into toffee type by over boiling.
