Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Brown Rice - 1 glass
  2. Ginger - half inch piece finely chopped
  3. Green chilly - 2 finely chopped
  4. Curry leaves - few
  5. Mustard seeds - 1tspn
  6. Split urad dal - 1 tspn
  7. Chana dal - 1 tspn
  8. Dry Red chilly - 1
  9. Coriander leaves for garnish
  10. Carrot grated - 2 nos for garnish
  11. Pomegranate kernels - 1 / 4 th cup for garnish
  12. Thick curd - 2 cups (adjust according to taste)
  13. Salt to taste
  14. Oil - 1 tbspn

Instructions

  1. Wash the brown rice and soak for half an hour. Then pressure cook the rice and keep aside....
  2. In a kadai put oil & when hot add the mustard seeds, split urad dal,chana dal & the dry red chilly broken into halves....
  3. After it splutters add the curry leaves & chopped ginger and green chilly.... saute for two minutes....
  4. Then add salt and the cooked brown rice.
  5. Add curd and bring to required consistency.... Mix well... turn off the gas.
  6. Now add the grated carrots, Pomegranate kernels and garnish with coriander leaves...
  7. Serve with pickle of your choice :blush:
  8. Ready to be served
