This is a quick recipe of a curry made with jackfruits, to be served with roti or rice.

Kathal ki subji/jackfruit subji

Ingredients to make Kathal ki subji/jackfruit subji

  • Kathal /jack fruit - 500 gms
  • chopped onion - 2
  • ginger,garlic paste - 1 tsp
  • coriander powder - 1 tsp
  • turmeric powder - 1 tsp
  • red chilly powder - 2 tsp
  • cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Black pepper - 3 - 4
  • cinnamon - 1 inch stick
  • cloves - 2 - 3
  • salt - to taste
  • bay leaf - 1 - 2
  • Oil - 2 tbsp curd
  • curd - 1 tbsp
  • Chopped coriander leaves - 1 tbsp

How to make Kathal ki subji/jackfruit subji

  1. Cut the kathal into pieces.
  2. .Half boil the kathal pieces and marinate it with curd,coriander powder,red chilli powder,turmeric powder,salt,gingergarlic paste and oil for 15 minutes
  3. Heat the oil in a pressure cooker.
  4. .Add jeera seeds,cinnamon stick,bay leaf , black pepper and cloves.
  5. Add onion and saute till Brown
  6. Now add the marinated kathal pieces and stir fry till color change
  7. Add some water and cover the lid when cooker release the whistle simmer the flame for five mins
  8. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve
