Upside Down Banana Cake

Ingredients to make Upside Down Banana Cake

  • Topping
  • 2 Ripe bananas sliced
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 6tbsp melted butter
  • Cake
  • 2 ripe banana mashed
  • 1.5 cups flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/3 cup oil
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup white sugar

How to make Upside Down Banana Cake

  1. Grease cake mould and preheat oven to 180
  2. Heat a pan, add butter and sugar and mix on medium heat for 1-2 minutes. Pour this mixture immediately on prepared cake mould and press it evenly to bottom. Place sliced bananas as per the design you wish to have on top of cake
  3. Sieve dry ingredients and keep it aside
  4. In a bowl mix sugar and oil, well. Add one egg at a time and blend until frothy. Add banana, buttermilk and vanilla extract to mixture. Blend well
  5. Slowly add dry ingredients , cut and fold gently. Pour prepared batter in cake mould. Bake for 25-40 minutes until done. This will be a moist cake. Allow cake to cool slightly. Invert the cake. Now allow the cake to cool completely. Cut and serve
