Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 2 Medium Onions
  2. 1 tbsp oil
  3. 3 Garlic Cloves
  4. 3 Red Dry Chillis
  5. 2 tbsp Urad Dal
  6. 1 tsp channa dal
  7. salt as needed
  8. Tamarind (Amla Size)
  9. TO TEMPER :
  10. 1 tbsp oil
  11. 1/2 tsp Mustard Seeds
  12. 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  13. 1 tsp Urad Dal (optional)
  14. a pinch of asafoedita
  15. 2 Dry red Chillis
  16. 1 sprig curry leaves

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan and fry the urad dal and channa dal till slight golden brown. Then add the dry red chillis and garlic and fry everything together.
  2. Add roughly chopped onions, and saute them well till they become soft and translucent. Turn off stove and allow them to cool.
  3. Adding little water,Just blend them all together with salt and tamarind to chutney consistency.
  4. For the tempering, heat oil, add urad dal,mustard, followed by jeera, hing and dry red chillis. Pour this tempering (tadka) on chutney and give a mix.
