Pistachio Halwa

Ingredients to make Pistachio Halwa

  • Unsalted pistachio- 1 cup
  • sugar- 3\4 cup
  • water- 1 cup
  • Milk or water for grinding - 1 tbsp
  • ghee- 1 or 2 tbsp
  • Green food color- little (optional|)
  • Edible silver vark - for decoration ( optional)

How to make Pistachio Halwa

  1. Soak the nut in warm water for minimum 30 mins.
  2. Peel the outer skin of it.As it will easily come by just pressing between two fingers.
  3. Grind it to fine paste either with water or milk.( I used water).
  4. To a non-stick pan add in water and sugar.When it boils and reach bubbling stage add in the ground paste along with food color ( if using).
  5. Continuously stir the mix till it leaves the side of the pan.Add ghee in between.
  6. Switch off, cool and serve with silver vark.
