Hummus

Ingredients to make Hummus

  • 1 and 1/2 cup boiled chickpeas
  • 1 big sized lemon
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 1/4 cup olive oil + for drizzling
  • 1/4 cup tahina
  • Few olives to garnish
  • Salt to taste

How to make Hummus

  1. Chop the garlic and squeeze juice out of the lemon.
  2. In a blender, add the chickpeas, garlic and blend it coarsely.
  3. Now add the tahina with half the oil and continue blending it.
  4. Give a stir and add the remaining oil along with salt and lemon juice. Blend it till its smooth.
  5. Garnish with olives then drizzle with some generous olive oil and serve with any bread of your choice.
My Tip: You can use canned or homemade boiled chickpeas but the latter will give the best result. Olive oil is a must and this cannot be substituted. Use lemon as per your own discretion. You can add cilantro or parsley but I prefer it this way.
