About Nalli mutton Recipe

Nalli pieces of mutton simmered in rich mild spicy gravy.

Nalli mutton

Ingredients to make Nalli mutton

  • mutton 1/2 kg . pieces from leg upper part
  • onions 250 gm
  • ginger garlic paste 1 tbsn
  • curd 150 gm
  • red chilli powder 1 tspn
  • turmeric powder 1/2 tspn
  • garam masala 1 tspn
  • Kashmiri chilli powder 1/2 tspn
  • salt
  • desi ghee 150 gm
  • whole garlic pods 2 to 4
  • refined 150 gm

How to make Nalli mutton

  1. firstly clean mutton . let it remain soaked for 20 minuets in salt water
  2. take out mutton out of water drain it
  3. chop onions and deep fry in refined oil till golden . grind and make a smooth paste
  4. in a heavy bottom pan add 1/3 ghee add mutton to it and fry it till colour changes
  5. take out the mutton . add remaining ghee add ginger garlic paste . fry it . add mutton . dry spices salt and cook it for 10 minuets
  6. add onion paste . add whole garlic pods .
  7. add curd and salt . let it simmering till liquid evaporates
  8. add 1 1/2 glass of water cook on low heat for 30 to 40 minuets or till mutton done .
  9. if preparing in cooker cook till 40 minuets.
