About Gravy Bomb Recipe

Mashed potatoes and gravy doesn't always have to be eaten with a spoon. Cheesy mashed potatoes are rolled into balls with gravy right in the middle of each one. The balls are then covered with breadcrumbs and fried until golden brown and crispy, making it a delicious light dinner or appetizer.

Ingredients to make Gravy Bomb

  • 3cups mashed potato
  • 1/2cup Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2cup cream cheese
  • 1tsp garlic powder
  • 1tsp pepper powder
  • 1tsp butter
  • salt as per taste
  • 2cups Brown gravy
  • 1cup flour
  • 2cups breadcrumbs
  • 3 eggs (whisked)
  • oil for frying

How to make Gravy Bomb

  1. Pour the brown gravy into an ice cube tray and freez until solid.
  2. Put the flour, eggs, and breadcrumbs into three separate bowls.
  3. In a large bowl, mix together mashed potatoes, cream cheese, parmesan, garlic powder, butter, salt, and pepper.
  4. Remove the gravy cube from freezer.
  5. Wrap 2-3 tablespoons of potato mixture around one gravy cube.
  6. Roll each ball in flour, then dipped in egg mixture, and lastly bread crumbs. Repeat with remaining potatoes and gravy cubes.
  7. In a large pan heat vegetable oil to 375ºF. Making sure to not overcrowd the pan, fry potato bombs in batches for 3-5 minutes, or until golden brown.
  8. Transfer with a slotted spoon to a paper towel-lined dish and let drain. Serve immediately and enjoy!
