Moth tikki

Ingredients to make Moth tikki

  • Moth 1 cup soaked for 1-2 hrs
  • red chilli powder 1/2 tsp
  • salt to taste
  • coriander powder 1/2 tsp
  • turmeric powder 1/4 to 1/2 tsp
  • Amchoor powder 1/4 tsp
  • Garam masala 1/2 tsp
  • green chillies 1-2 finely chopped
  • coriander leaves few chopped
  • oil for shallow frying
  • Rice flour 1-2 tbsp for binding

How to make Moth tikki

  1. Boil the moth in a cooker with salt and turmeric powder till 2 whistles blow. In a kadhai, add 1-2 tbsp oil, then add the boiled moth and all the dry spices except the garam masala. Stir till all the water dries up.
  2. Cool the moth sabzi, add rice flour, little salt, green chillies and coriander leaves.
  3. Make the tikkis and shallow fry them on a non-stick tawa on a medium to low heat till it is crisp from both sides.
  4. Serve with green chutney or tomato sauce.
