Chatpate Baby Potatoes

Ingredients to make Chatpate Baby Potatoes

  • Baby potatoes 250 gms
  • Oil 3 tbsp
  • Few curry leaves
  • Cumin seeds 1/2 tsp
  • Onion 1/2 cup finely chopped
  • Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Red chilli powder 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder 3/4 tsp
  • Chaat Masala powder 2 tsp
  • Ginger-garlic paste 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander leaves, 1 tbsp finely chopped for garnishing

How to make Chatpate Baby Potatoes

  1. Boil the potatoes with little salt till 2 whistles blow. Once cooled, peel and make insertions lightly with a fork.
  2. Heat a kadai on medium flame and add oil. Once it's hot, add the cumin seeds and curry leaves. As it splutters, add onions and stir fry till its golden brown.
  3. Turn the flame to low, add all the other ingredients and stir for a few seconds. Then turn the flame back to medium.
  4. Add the boiled potatoes and mix it well. Sprinkle little water and let it coat the potatoes.
  5. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve it hot with phulkas/rotis/rice.

My Tip:

Sprinkle very little water just to coat the potatoes otherwise it will become like a gravy.
