How To Make Balsamic Tomato and Celery Salad

For me, no meal – Indian or otherwise – is complete without a salad. The raw vitamins and other nutrients that salads supplement any meal with are unsurpassed. Over time, I have experimented with several ingredients just thrown together to create different salads to suit a meal. Here’s a recipe for a simple, zingy salad that can accompany any dish and refresh a meal.

Ingredients to make Balsamic Tomato and Celery Salad

  • 2 large Tomatoes
  • 2 sticks of Celery (leaves and all)
  • 2 tbsp Oil or EVOO
  • 1.5 tsp Balsamic vinegar
  • ½ tsp Honey
  • Salt to taste

Steps to make Balsamic Tomato and Celery Salad

  1. Chop the tomatoes in wedges or cubes and add to serving bowl. Chop finely and mix in celery with tomatoes.
  2. Take a small bowl prepare dressing by combining vinegar, EVOO, honey and salt. Stir until it blends. Before serving dress the salad and serve cold.
My Tip: You can also reduce some balsamic vinegar in a pan and add that sticky reduction from the top for extra zing. I love the celery leaves - use that as a garnish.
