Vermicelli Payasam (Kheer)

Ingredients to make Vermicelli Payasam (Kheer)

  • Milk 500 ml
  • Sugar 1/2 cup
  • Vermicelli 1 packet
  • Ealchi powder 1 tbsp
  • Chopped nuts 1/2 cup
  • Ghee to fry vermicelli 2 tbsp

How to make Vermicelli Payasam (Kheer)

  1. Heat ghee in a pan and fry the vermicelli till it's golden. Keep aside to cool.
  2. Take milk in the same pan and heat till it becomes a little thick. Then add sugar and mix it well in the milk, once again cook till all the water evaporates.
  3. Then add the fried vermicelli into the milk and cook till it becomes soft. Next, add the elaichi powder and chopped nuts, cook it for 1 more minute.
  4. Serve in a bowl and sprinkle little elaichi powder from the top and chopped nuts.
  5. Enjoy it hot or cool as per your taste.

My Tip:

Elaichi powder for aroma and flavour.
