ABOUT Sewiyan RECIPE

A yummy Muslim dessert made using lot of ghee and dry fruits.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 1 packet of roasted sev
  2. 1/4 th cup of chopped almonds, pistachios, cahew nuts
  3. 3 pods cardamom
  4. Ghee 4-6 tbsp or more
  5. 1 tsp raisins
  6. pinch of salt
  7. Sugar 3/4 th cup or as per taste
  8. Hot water as required

Instructions

  1. In a non stick pan, add ghee and cardamom pods (crush it slightly before adding), soon add chopped nuts.
  2. Add in lightly crushed sev and roast it till it is completely covered with ghee.
  3. Add boiling water just below the level of sev. If you add too much water it will become soggy.
  4. Mix and close the lid. After 2 minutes, mix again. Add sugar and a pinch of salt. Let the sugar dissolve, add raisins and cover, cook covered for 2 minutes.
  5. Stir and turn off the flame.
  6. Serve hot.
