Ingredients to make Gandiyu ( don't forget to eat this in Summers)

  • rice 2 cup
  • Tur dal (cooked and prepared) 3 cup
  • Sprouts of your choice 1/2 cup(. Stir fried)
  • curd 1 cup
  • onion 2 small
  • garlic cut small 1 tsp
  • tomato 1
  • Curry patta a few
  • bay leaves 1 or 2
  • oil 3 tsp
  • cloves 3 to 4
  • salt according to taste
  • chilli powder as per taste

How to make Gandiyu ( don't forget to eat this in Summers)

  1. Heat 1 tsp oil in a pan, add asafoetida, garlic cut in small and saute well. Add bay leaves and saute.
  2. Add onions which have been cut small, saute. Add tomato and saute well. Add curry patta.
  3. Now add daal, Sauted Sprouts, mashed cooked rice and curd.
  4. Adjust all the masala. Add coriander leaves.
  5. Now heat 2 tsp oil, when heated add cloves, let it split, add chilli powder and immediately pour on Gandiyu.
  6. Enjoy with adding ghee and masala papad.

My Tip:

You can use left over daal and rice. Generally Gujju daal is a sweet and sour. But you can have mango pickle or sweet and sour lime pickle with it.
