Oats-dal-subz uthapum

Ingredients to make Oats-dal-subz uthapum

  • 1/2 cup green(skinned) _soaked and ground moong dal
  • 1cup Rolled Oats (Quaker Oats)-
  • 1/4cup -yoghurt-
  • salt to taste
  • 1tsp eno fruit salt
  • 1Finely Chopped onion
  • 2Finely Chopped tomatoes
  • 1cup Finely Chopped vegetables(cabbage capsicum carrot bean
  • 2tbsps- Finely chopped coriander-
  • tomato ketchup and black pepper powder to taste
  • Handful of raisins and chopped walnuts for crunch(optional)
  • Salad to serve with
  • oil as required

How to make Oats-dal-subz uthapum

  1. Grind the rolled oats to make powdeAdd moongdal paste yoghurt and salt.
  2. Add water to make the batter a little thicker than that of normal uthappam.
  3. Leave the batter for 15-30 minutes.Add eno fruit salt.
  4. Combine Tomato ketchup and black pepper powder chopped onions- Chopped tomatoes, Chopped vegetables, chopped Coriander, raisins ,chopped walnuts(if using ) and salt to taste.
  5. Now take a non-stick pan .HEAt it well.Now pour 2 Tbsp of batter on to the heated pan and spread it properly.Add oil .
  6. Then immediately top with vegetable. Cover the Pan with some lid and let the Oats- -vegetables –uthappum.
  7. cook ,till the upper part looks set and when you try to detach it from the pan, it comes off easily. Flip it and cook the other side adding oil..
  8. Similarily make other Oats- -vegetables - uthapum with remaining ingredients. Serve hot with salad .

My Tip:

make it on nonstick pan ,use vegetables chopped finely. coconut -chutney.
