This is my mom's recipes.Toor dal dosa is a simple and delicious dish. Toor dal dosa recipe is a part of South Indian diet and it is popular all over the India. South Indian cuisine includes the cuisines of the five southern states Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Telangana. Toor dal dosa is good for breakfast and also for the evening snack. The best part of toor dosa dosa is this, you can prepare the batter using fermentation method and also without fermentation. Toor dal dosa is a healthy recipe because toor dal contains iron, folic acid, fiber, magnesium, protein and carbohydrates. Toor dal helps to prepare beautiful, thin and crispy dosas. Toor dal dosa recipe is very easy and quick to prepare. You have to soak the rice, toor dal and fenugreek in water for about 4-6 hours. Drain the water and grind them in the blender along with the water until it turns into a smooth batter. Now add salt and mix them well. Now your batter is ready, If you want to make your dosa more crispy then you just leave this batter for 4 hours and then make crispy toor dal dosa. You can add grated carrots and curry leaves to the batter to make it more beautiful. Serve the toor dal dosa with any chutney of your choice.

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. 1 Cup of Boiled Rice
  2. 1/2 Cup of Toor Dal
  3. 2 Red Chilies or to taste
  4. 1/2 Tsp of Fenugreek
  5. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Soak both the rice, toor dal, red chilies, fenugreek in water for 4-6 hrs or overnight.
  2. Drain the water, wash the rice, toor dal in tap water, grind it in a blender along with water until the batter turns smooth and soft. Add salt and mix well with hand. Leave it for 4 hrs or use it immediately.
  3. Heat a dosa pan or griddle, pour a ladleful of dosa batter and spread it like dosa. Drizzle a tsp of oil over dosa or in sides. Cook both the sides until it turns crisp and golden brown colour.
