ABOUT MONOHORA SANDESH RECIPE

Sandesh is a sweet treat that can be seen at any Indian celebration in a Bengali household. Sandesh is a most Bengali sweet, which is made with channa(cottage cheese) and sugar. This cuisine comes from the present day of Bangladesh as well West Bengal. No Bengali meal is complete without Mishti or sweet and none is more loved by the Bengalis than Sandesh. It is easy to make. Being a milk based sweet sandesh doesn't last long so consume it as soon as possible.Sandesh should be served cold.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Full Fat Milk - 4 cups
  2. Sugar - 1 cup
  3. Vinegar - 1/4 cup + 2 tablespoon water ( mix in a cup)
  4. Cardamom powder - 1/4 teaspoon
  5. Chopped Pista - For garnishing

Instructions

  1. Now take a plate or bowl and mash the channa to make it smooth for at least 15 to 20 mins.
  2. Add the cardamom powder or crashed cardamom and knead the channa again for 5 mins.
  3. Now add sugar and gently mix with the mashed channa and knead for another 5 mins.
  4. Now take a clean non stick pan and heat it on low medium heat. When it is little how add the channa mixture and stir with a spatulated 5 to 6 mins.
  5. Now take out the channa. If you wait it will harden and you can't shape it. If you don't stir the channa mixture on hot non stick tawa its totally fine.
  6. Now give shape like round , square, diamond or you can use moulds. Lastly garnish with chopped pista on a top of each Sandesh. Enjoy authentic Bengali SANDESH.
