Palak methi and flaxseed paratha

Ingredients to make Palak methi and flaxseed paratha

  • 1 cup whole grain or multigrain atta
  • 1 cup finely chopped palak leaves
  • 1 cup finely chopped methi leaves
  • 2 teaspoon flaxseeds very lightly roasted (optional)
  • 5 tablespoons of dahi
  • 1 tablespoon of ghee and ghee for frying the parathas.
  • 1/2 teaspoon whole jeera
  • 1/2 teaspoon whole dhania
  • 4 green chillies chopped finely
  • water as required to make the dough.

How to make Palak methi and flaxseed paratha

  1. Heat 1 tablespoon of ghee in a kadhai. Add the chopped palak and methi. Stir for a minute and remove from heat.
  2. In a pan dry roast the jeera and dhania. Pound it to a coarse powder.
  3. Take the atta in a bowl. Add salt, flax seeds, and the roasted dhania jeera powder. Add the chopped green chillies.
  4. Add dahi , the Palak and methi and required amount of water to make into a stiff dough.
  5. Leave aside covered with damp cloth for about ten minutes.
  6. Divide the dough into four balls . Roll out parathas of your chosen shape and shallow fry on a hot tawa with ghee.
  7. Yummy parathas ready to serve with achar and dahi.

My Tip:

You may omit the flaxseeds if you wish. The parathas will still remain wholesome and nutritious.
