Teekhi Kadhi with Spinach & Onion Pakoda in my style

Ingredients to make Teekhi Kadhi with Spinach & Onion Pakoda in my style

  • Sour Curd 2 cup
  • Besan 7-8 tbsp
  • salt as per taste
  • Red chilli powder 1 tsp or as per taste
  • Onion 1 small
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • Hing 1/2 tsp
  • methi seeds 1/2 tsp
  • Jeera 1tsp
  • Musturd seed 1/2 tsp
  • Garlic 3-4 nos.
  • Curry leaves 7-8
  • sugar 1tsp
  • Oil for tempering & Frying as per requirement
  • For Pakodas:-
  • Besan 1 cup
  • Onion 1/2 cup
  • Palak (Spinach) 1/2 cup
  • Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  • Red chilli powder 1/2 tsp
  • Ajwain 1/2 tsp
  • Salt 3/4
  • Garlic cloves 2 nos.
  • Nutmeg powder 1 pinch (optional) but it will enhance the taste.
  • Garma masala powder 2 pinch
  • Green coriander 1 tbsp

How to make Teekhi Kadhi with Spinach & Onion Pakoda in my style

  1. In a bowl take curd,whisk well.
  2. now add Besan,salt,chilli powder,and 3-4 cup water and mix gently without lumps.
  3. Now Take a heavy pan and cook this mixture on medium flame around 25 minutes and stir time to time.
  4. Meanwhile mixture is cooking ,we will prepare Pakodas for Kadhi.
  5. Take a bowl ,add besan,salt,chilli,garam masala,chopped garlic,ajwain,green coriander,nutmeg powder and mix well.Now add little water to avoid lumps and then add onions and spinach in the batter.
  6. Whisk very well so that pakodas could be spongy,keep aside for 5-10 minutes and then fry on medium flame and keep aside.
  7. Now check the Kadhi batter ,you will get a right consistency .switch off the flame and add pakodas in this so that it could soak well in Kadhi.
  8. Now take a kadai ,tempered with jeera,methi daana,heeng,Whole red chilli,curry leaves,stir for a minutes and then add onions and garlic,and fry for few minutes till light golden.
  9. You will get a fantastic aroma,then pour Kadhi which was soaked with pakodas.
  10. Cook for 2-3 minutes again.and serve Hot .
My Tip: To make Pakoda spongy whisk the batter well. You can add sourness according to your taste. Choose curd according to your taste or sourness and add water to set the consistancy. One of the secret of my kadhi is,i soak some heeng in little water and after complete process i pour it above kadhi.It gives a Fantastic aroma to your Kadhi.
