Matar Masala

Ingredients to make Matar Masala

  • 2 cups onion, chopped
  • 3 tbsp oil
  • 1/4 cup mawa
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp kashmiri lal mirch
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  • 2 tbsp dry coriander powder
  • 1 tsp haldi
  • 1 tsp kasoori methi
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tbsp fresh malai
  • 3 cup fresh matter (peas)
  • 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 cup tomatoes, chopped

How to make Matar Masala

  1. Grind the onion, tomatoes, and ginger-garlic paste together. Keep it aside.
  2. Take a pan and heat oil in it, then add in the paste and stir fry. After a few minutes, pour in 1/4 cup water and cook this for 10 minutes. Next, add in the mawa and all the spices together. Mix well and cook for another 5 minutes.
  3. After this time, add the malai, mutter, garam masala and kasoori methi together. Mix these ingredients well and cook till the mutter becomes soft.
  4. Switch off the flame and shift this dish into a serving bowl.
  5. Garnish with green coriander and serve alongside rice/roti.
