Ingredients to make Honey Chilli Lotus Stem

  • 2 Medium size lotus stem (clean and wash nicely)
  • 2 Tablespoon cornflour
  • salt according to taste
  • oil for frying
  • For Sweet and Hot Sauce :
  • 1 Tablespoon oil
  • 1 Tablespoon chopped ginger- Garlic
  • 1 teaspoon deggi mirch powder
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1 Teaspoon tomato sauce
  • 1/4 tea spoon soya sauce
  • 1 Tablespoon roasted sesame seeds

How to make Honey Chilli Lotus Stem

  1. TAKE 1 CUP WASHED, DRIED & SLICED LOTUS STEM, ADD 2 TBSP CORNFLOUR, 1/2 TSP SALT
  2. MIX IT WELL
  3. DEEP FRY IN HOT OIL
  4. FRY UNTIL GOLDEN BROWN & CRISP, DRAIN ON A PAPER NAPKIN
  5. FOR SWEET & HOT SAUCE : HEAT 1 TBSP OIL
  6. ADD 1 TBSP MINCED GINGER- GARLIC, SAUTE TILL BROWN
  7. ADD 1/4 CUP ONIONS, 1/2 CUP TRICOLOURED BELL PEPPERS
  8. ADD SALT, 3/4 TSP RED CHILLI POWDER, 1 TSP CHILLI SAUCE
  9. ADD 1 TSP TOMATO KETCHUP, 1/4 TSP SOYA SAUCE
  10. TAKE OFF HEAT, ADD 1 TSP HONEY & MIX
  11. ADD FRIED LOTUS STEM CHIPS & TOSS
  12. TRANSFER IN A SERVING PLATE
  13. SPRINKLE 1 TBSP ROASTED SESAME SEEDS
