Ingredients to make Sizzling ragda patty

  • 1 cup dried white peas
  • 1 cup canned chick peas
  • 2 tablespoon gram flour
  • 1 tsp each of ginger-garlic and green chilli paste
  • 3 tsp of dry masalas (jeera, dhania and garam masala powder)
  • Curd, jaggery-tamarind paste, green chutney can be added as per taste
  • 1 tsp chat masala
  • 1/2 tsp each of curry leaves, mustard and cumin seeds
  • For the patty:
  • 4 Boiled and mashed potatoes
  • 1 tsp ginger paste
  • salt to taste
  • 3 tsp masala
  • 1/2 cup of chopped coriander
  • 3 bread slices
  • 1 tablespoon white flour

How to make Sizzling ragda patty

  1. Boil the white peas and mash it. Take oil in a pan, put in the curry leaves, mustard and cumin seeds, then add the ginger, garlic and green chilli paste. Saute for 1 min, then add the 3 dry masalas and gram flour. Once again saute it for 2 mins then pour in water and mix it properly.
  2. Now add the white peas paste, chick peas and cook for 10 mins. Then add 1 tsp of the tamarind paste and salt to taste. Keep it aside.
  3. To make the patty, mash the boiled potatoes, add the chopped coriander, ginger, green chilli paste add the soaked bread slices and white flour along with the 3 dry masalas with a little lemon juice. Make patty shapes of this mixture and shallow fry them.
  4. Take a very hot sizzler tray, pour the ragda first, then place the patty, now pour in the curd, meethi chutney and green chutney on top.
  5. Sprinkle chat masala, red chilli powder, chopped coriander, sev and garam masala on top.
  6. Serve it hot to enjoy!
