Puttu is a popular breakfast and snack item prepared southern part of India.

Wheat Puttu

Ingredients to make Wheat Puttu

  • wheat 1 cup
  • sugar 1/4 cup
  • Grated coconut 1/4 cup
  • Warm water as needed
  • salt as needed
  • ghee 5 tsp

How to make Wheat Puttu

  1. heat a pan and fry wheat in low flame until it releases aroma.
  2. Transfer this immediately onto a plate, after it cools, sprinkle water and pinch of salt and mix well
  3. Then grind it in mixer grinder to smoothen the crumbles..
  4. Then spread it into heated idly cooker steam it for 10 min
  5. After it cool add suger and grated coconut
  6. Ready to serve
