ABOUT Boondi Layered Gujiya RECIPE

Basically it is made in holi festival made from maida.

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. Maida/refined flour 1 and 1/2 cup
  2. Desi ghee 5 tablespoon
  3. Water 1/2 cup
  4. Milk 1/2cup
  5. Fine boondi 1 cup (I bought it from the sweet shop)
  6. Dry fruits: Almonds 2 tablespoon finely chopped
  7. Cashewnut 2 tablespoon finely chopped
  8. Chironji 2 tablespoon finely chopped
  9. Raisins 2 tablespoon
  10. Cardamom powder 1 teaspoon
  11. Desi ghee for frying

Instructions

  1. Take a big bowl.
  2. Put maida in it. Add ghee, water and milk, make a smooth dough.
  3. Let it rest for an hour.
  4. Make boondi stuffing:
  5. Take boondi and add all the chopped nuts one by one and cardamom powder to it. The stuffing is ready.
  6. Now make 10 small balls from the dough.
  7. Roll it like a small chapati.
  8. Now take 1 chapati, grease it with a little ghee, now put another chapati and again grease it, keep repeating the process with the remaining chapatis.
  9. Now roll the chapatis n cut it in small portions.
  10. Roll one portion with the help of a rolling pin.
  11. Stuff it with the boondi mixture.
  12. Close the dough like a dumpling and seal the edges with the help of water.
  13. Heat ghee in a large kadhai.
  14. Fry the gujiyas one by one.
  15. Garnish with some chopped dry fruits and serve.
