Healthy Broken Wheat Snack

Ingredients to make Healthy Broken Wheat Snack

  • 3 cups water
  • 1/2 cup broken Wheat
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh Corriander leaves
  • 2 tbsp Bajra/jowar/ragi/besan/wheat flour
  • Juice of half a lemon
  • oil
  • Salt and Red chilly powder

How to make Healthy Broken Wheat Snack

  1. Thoroughly wash broken wheat 2-3 times and leave it to soak in water for 20-30 minutes.
  2. Add 2 cups of water to a cooking vessel on low flame, add broken wheat (drain the soaked in water). Stir occasionally using a fork.
  3. After 12-15 mins, the broken wheat will be doubled in size, water will be absorbed.
  4. Drain using strainer to remove any excess water. Using a tea towel cover the strainer. Stir using fork to cool it down.
  5. Transfer it to a bowl and add flour, salt, coriander, lemon juice and red chili powder. Adjust spice accordingly.
  6. Grease each slot of the appe pan with a drop of oil and scoop in the batter in each slot. Leave this to brown on all sides on medium flame.
  7. Serve hot with your choice of chutney.
