Potato Poori and Potato Methi Curry.

Ingredients to make Potato Poori and Potato Methi Curry.

  • For potato poori -
  • wheat flour or maida 2 cups
  • Boiled & mashed potato 1/2 cup
  • curd 1/4 cup
  • salt
  • If you like add jeera 1/2 tsp.
  • Enough water to knead dough
  • For Curry-
  • methi leaves,cut into small pieces- 2 cups.
  • potato 1
  • dal 1/4 cup boiled
  • onion 1
  • tomato 1
  • garlic paste 1/2 tsp
  • turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
  • chilli Powder 1/2 tsp
  • coriander powder 1/2 tsp.
  • oil 3 tbsp
  • salt

How to make Potato Poori and Potato Methi Curry.

  1. For making pooris- Mix everything, flour,potato, oil,curd, and salt. Knead well. Keep aside.
  2. Take small sized balls. Roll them, deep fry them. Pooris are ready.
  3. Make curry, fry garlic paste in oil , Then add chopped onion, fry. After some time, add tomato stir well till it gets a creamy consistency.
  4. Then add small pieces of potato, along with all masala powders. Stir well for some time. If more water is needed pour some,close lid. Cook for about 8,10 minutes and then add leaves and cooked dal. Stir and adjust seasoning. Then let it simmer for 10 more minutes. When the gravy is almost thick remove
  5. Fry red chillies in ghee. If you like the taste of garlic, you may add that too, while seasoning.
  6. Serve curry with pooris.

My Tip:

You need not add dal and potato together, but I liked the taste of it. You may add,garam masala,or garlic ,when you season.
