Ingredients to make Chepala pulsu

  • Fish 500gms
  • 2 onions
  • tamarind 50gms
  • Dry coconut powder 1/2 tsp
  • Sesame seed powder 1 tsp
  • ginger garlic paste 1 tsp
  • salt as per taste
  • chilli 2 tsp
  • turmeric 1/4 tsp
  • Dhaniya powder 1tsp
  • methi jeera powder 1/4 tsp
  • jaggery a small piece
  • Garama masala 1 tsp
  • curry leaves 1 spring
  • Corriander 1 bunch
  • oil 2tbsp

How to make Chepala pulsu

  1. Wash fish throughly (i used murrel fish) add salt ,red chilli powder,gingergarlic paste and keep aside for 30 min to marinate
  2. Soak tamrind in 1/2 cup water
  3. In a clay pot or wide cooking dish pour oil let it heat add curry leaves,onions let onions become brown .
  4. Add marinated fish pieces to the onions and flip after 2 min
  5. Add tamarind juice let it boil for 15 min add corriander powder,cumin and methi powder, add coconut powder,garam masala powder ,sesame powder,jaggery.
  6. Cook for 5 min and switch off
  7. Serve with hot rice
