  • Toor dal 1cup
  • Tender tamarind leaves 1 cup
  • Garlic cloves ,peeled 2 tsp
  • Mustard seeds 1 tsp
  • Red chilli powder 1 tsp
  • Hing powder 1 tsp
  • Methi seeds 1/2 tsp
  • Dry red chilli 1
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil 2 tsp
  • Jeera seeds 1 tsp
  • Pinch of turmeric powder

How to make Chinta Chiguru Pappu | Dal with Tamarind Leaves

  1. Select fresh tamarind leaves and clean them well.
  2. Pressure cook dal for 4-5 whistle.
  3. In a deep pan, pour boiled Toor dal and tamarind tree leaves.
  4. Mash the dal well.
  5. Add salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder and mix it well.Cook till everything blends well.
  6. Temper with garlic, mustard seeds, Hing, red chillies, jeera seeds and methi seeds.
